Why Small Groups?
What is a Small Group?
It is an intentional gathering of 8-14 people who commit themselves to regular meetings for the purpose of friendship, encouragement, discussion, and prayer.
How often do groups meet?
Groups meet weekly throughout the Trimester.
What does a typical Small Group meeting look like?
15-30 min. of socializing & announcements, 45-60 min. of discussion, 15 min. of prayer.
What is the administrative structure of a Small Group?
Small Groups include a leader, possibly an apprentice leader, and a host home.
What is the duration of a typical Small Group?
Anyone who wants to join a Small Group commits on a Trimester basis. At the end of every Trimester, individuals can find a new group or stay in their current group. (1st Trimester = September – November. 2nd Trimester = January – March. 3rd Trimester = April - June). A Small Group can continue meeting for as long as it would like.
Are the small groups open or closed?
Once the Trimester begins, the group is (mostly) closed. At the start of the new Trimester, groups may receive new individuals, as long as the number does not exceed 14. New groups will be added as new leaders emerge.
What is the Biblical content of small group meetings?
Every Small Group at BRAC will be discussing the same material based on recent sermons. (“Apply It!” questions for each week can be found with each Sermon video under the Sermons tab.)
